Troubleshooting
● Note
If the cause of failure cannot be found after all the above items have been inspected, contact the service
center and offer the symptom of failure and the model of air-conditioning unit.
● The following conditions are not failures:
“Failure” Cause
When the unit is to be started
immediately after shutdown
Overload protection switch of the unit
causes a 3-minute lag before the
startup
Air-conditioning unit
does not run
When the unit is energized 1 minute of stand-by time
Unit blows mist When in cooling operation
Indoor air with high humidity is cooled
rapidly
Light “Clatter” is heard when the unit
starts operation
Sound of initial operation of electric
expansion valve
Continuous “Hissing” is heard when the
unit is in cooling operation
Flowing sound of gaseous refrigerant
in the unit
Hissing is heard when starting and
shutting down the unit
Sound as a result that the flow of
gaseous refrigerant stops
Continuous light hissing during and
after operation
Operating sound of drainage system
Creak is heard during and after
operation
Friction sound of positions such as
front panel after expansion owing to
the change in temperature
Noise from
air-conditioning unit
When indoor unit enters into heating
mode from cooling/dry/fan/off mode or
by contraries, the brief air flowing
sound of cooling and heating mode
exchanger occurs.
Air flowing sound results from
reversing of 4-way valve of cooling
and heating mode exchanger.
Air-conditioning unit
blows out dust
When starting the unit after long-term
shutdown
Dust inside the indoor unit is blown out
of the unit
