SPARK ARRESTER

 

This product is equipped with an internal combustion 
type engine. DO NOT use unit on or near any 
unimproved, forest-covered, or brush covered land 
unless exhaust system is equipped with a spark 
arrester meeting applicable local, state, or federal laws. 
A spark arrester, if it is used, must be maintained in 
effective working order by operator.

 

TOOLS REQUIRED

 

• Open-end wrenches (10mm, 13mm)

• Tire gauge

 

LOOSE PARTS INCLUDED

 

• Key

• Engine Operator’s Manual-Read before operating.

• Registration Card-Fill out and return to GRAVELY.

 

ASSEMBLY

 

The unit is fully assembled. The standard bucket must 
be installed.

1. Unpack Unit. Remove the unit and other 

components from shipping container.

2. Attach standard bucket to the front of the unit (see 

 

Operation

 

).

3. Adjust tire pressure to 24 psi (166 kPa).

4. Check engine oil. Refer to Engine Manual for 

proper type oil and crankcase capacity.

5. Check hydraulic oil level (see 

 

Maintenance)

 

.

6. Fill engine fuel tanks (see 

 

Operation

 

). Refer to 

Engine Manual for proper type.

7. Service and connect battery. Refer to Initial Battery 

Setup below.

8. Check Safety Interlock System (see 

 

Operation

 

).

9. Check function of all controls. 

Make sure unit runs and performs properly (see 

Operation)

.

 Initial Battery Setup

1. Remove battery cover.

2. Disconnect positive cable.

3. Remove caps from battery and fill each cell to 

level indicated with electrolyte at 1.265±.05 
specific gravity and 80˚ F (27˚ C).

4. Let battery stand for one half hour.

5. Check electrolyte level and add more if 

necessary.

6. Follow charger manufacturer’s instructions for 

safe procedures. It is advisable that the battery 
be charged as slowly as possible since quick 
charging will shorten the battery service life. 
When the battery has to be charged quickly, the 
charging current should be held to 2.0A 
maximum.

7. Connect a battery charger to the battery posts. 

Do not overcharge the battery. 

8. After charging, flush the outside of the battery 

with water.

9. Connect positive cable.

10. Connect negative cable.

11. Replace battery cover.

While learning how to use your unit, pay extra attention 
to the following important items:

Fuel tanks are filled.

Become familiar with all controls – their location 
and function. Operate them before you start the 
engine.
