4. LOADING A DOCUMENT

From inside the scanner, lift up the handle-rings provided at each side of the document
hold-down unit in order to lift the document hold-down unit up and off.

With its bottom surface facing the side, place the removed document hold-down unit
on a stable surface.
Underside
Scanning may be affected if the underside of the document hold-down unit becomes
scratched or dirty (see Section 5.3, “Cleaning the Document Hold-Down Unit” for
details).
