Do not toast bread or baked goods that have been buttered, sugared or spread / topped with
other foods as they could melt. The melted food could damage the device or even cause it
to catch fire!

If bread or parts of the device catch fire, do not in any case attempt to dowse them with
water. Pull the plug out of the socket and smother the flames with a wet cloth.
Finding the right location for the device

Only use the device in closed spaces.
❐
Always place the device on a dry, level, firm, and heat resistant surface.
❐
The device may only be operated in an upright position, never set it on the side, in a slanted
position or the wrong way around.
❐
Maintain adequate distance to heat sources such as stoves or ovens to prevent damage to
the device.
❐
Bread and baked goods in toasters can catch fire. Therefore, do not place the toaster in the
vicinity of or under flammable objects or textiles, e. g. curtains.

Only connect the device to a properly installed socket with protective earth contacts. The
socket must also be easily accessible after the device has been connected. The mains voltage
must correspond to the technical data of the device. Only use proper extension cords,
whose technical data correspond to those of the device.

Ensure that the connected cord does not pose a trip hazard. Do not allow the cord to hang
over the edge of a table or kitchen worktop. Someone could catch him / herself and pull
down the device.

Lay the cable such that it is not crushed or creased and such that it does not come into
contact with hot surfaces.
Handling the device properly

Check the device for damages prior to each use. If the device, the cord or the plug exhibit
visible damages, the device may not be used. Do not use the device if it had a malfunction
or has fallen down.

Never attempt to repair a defective electrical device yourself. Only have repairs performed
by a qualified workshop or in the event of damage, contact the customer service department.

Pull the plug out of the socket
– if you are not using the device,
– if a fault occurs during operation,
– if you remove the crumb tray,
– before a storm,
– before you clean the device.

If you wish to remove the plug from the socket, never pull on the cable, but always on the
plug.
❐
Never submerge the device in water or other liquids! Make sure that the device, the cord
or the plug do not fall in water or are at risk of getting wet. If the device falls in water,
immediately disconnect the power supply.
