Main shut-off device type 0271 and type 0272
4 / 10
part no. 02 710 50 a
FUNCTION DESCRIPTION
The main shut-off device HAE, for installation in LPG systems upstream or downstream from
the house connection is a combination of:
•
a ball valve in straight-way form according to EN 331
•
an insulator according to DIN 3389
•
a thermally triggered shut-off device "T" (TAE) with HAE Type 0272 according to
DVGW-VP 301 (DIN 3586)
•
an excess flow valve GS (optional) to protect the pipeline
•
an assembly board (optional)
•
a test connector (optional)
The HAE is used mainly for gas installation in terms of the German Technical Rules for LPG
(TRF).
ADVANTAGES AND EQUIPMENT
Shut-off fitting
•
ball valve acc. to EN 331
•
no reduction, only completely "Open" or "Closed"
•
for fast opening and closing
Insulator
The insulator is a non-conductive pipe connection that is used to interrupt the longitudinal
electric conductivity of a pipeline.
GS excess flow valve option
The GS excess flow valve blocks the flow of gas if the volumetric flow rate exceeds a
specified value.
Only a small volume of gas can escape through a small overflow opening.
The GS excess flow valve remains closed until the gas pressure is normal again.
The GS excess flow valve is open when the system is in operation.
If the nominal flow is exceeded by the closing factor, the gas flow is cut off.
This can happen, for example, if opening a screw connection or removing a plug causes the
pressure to drop.
Please refer to the German Technical Rules for LPG (TRF) for information about
dimensioning excess flow valves.
Thermal cut-out device "T" (TAE) option
At temperatures above +100°C the thermal cut-out device "T (TAE) responds and
automatically blocks the gas flow. If the "T" (TAE) has been triggered, the product must be
replaced. The product is marked with "T".
Test connector option
A leak tester can be connected to the test connector for pressure and leak tests in the LPG
system.
First, loosen the blind plug with coupling nut Type BSL on the test connector. After completing
the check, tighten the blind plug with coupling nut Type BSL again and check for leaks once
more. See LEAK CHECK
