PSTN Routing Flow Diagram
For the R32 with FXO ports, it can also configure the PSTN routing function. Acting as
the caller, R32 is able to start the call which can choose IP route, direct the call to the
protocol entity; or choose PSTN route, transfer the call to PSTN network through FXO port.
When system confirms the PSTN route, it will poll all available FXO ports to find a
random one to call out. The algorithm of polling ports can be set as: Round-robin mode, and
increasing mode. (Refer to
6.13
)
You must pay attention to difference of dual mode realization. For dual mode, FXO and
FXS are used in pairs. When FXS extension pick up the phone, the corresponding FXO port
is also in pick up status at the same time; when dual mode choose PSTN route, it will use the
fixed FXO port to call out, not poll the ports in random.
