Assembly and maintenance instructions - 400 / 400.5
If valves are used on rooms in which food is prepared, treated or processed, the
regulations of the VO (EC) 852/2004 Appendix II and especially chapter V.
These fittings can also be used under consideration of the resistance of materials
used for tasks in which resistance against aggressive media is required and high de
-
mands are placed on tightness. For details on the application area and the possible
application temperatures for the individual versions and the materials used please
refer to the datasheets of the manufacturer.
The valves are to be generally installed with a vertical, upright standing bonnet.
The safety function of the safety valves is also checked and verified in a horizontal
installation position. To run the body empty, this is to be installed with an inclination
with at least 3° in the drainage direction.
The outlet opening is to be generally arranged so that cross-contamination cannot
occur due to escaping product.
The valve may not generally be installed near unsealed foods or above the machine
-
ry food area (definition according to DIN EN 1672-2).To guarantee perfect function
of the valves, they must be mounted so that no unauthorized static, dynamic or
thermal loads can take effect.
Suitable protective measures must be taken if escaping medium can result in direct
or indirect risk to persons or the environment if the body responds.
Supply line
Supply line supports for safety valves should be a short as possible and are to be
designed so that no higher pressure losses than max. 3% of the response pressure
can occur at full valve load. The connection is to be designed as short as possible to
minimize the dead space.
Condensation drainage line
The line must be provided with equipment for condensation drainage at its lowest
point with constant effect for any possible development of condensation. Please
make sure that the condensation or escaping media is safely drained away. The
body, lines and sound absorbers must be protected against freezing.
Blow off line/ counterpressure
The safety valves blow off line is to be designed so that the necessary mass flow
can be discharged depressurized when blowing off.For safety valves with metal bel
-
lows, a counterpressure of up to max. 4 bar does not impair the response pressure
of the safety valve when discharging. The blow off line must be kept as short as pos
-
sible for simple cleaning or must be designed to be removable or alternatively with
an inclination of at least 3° in the drainage direction. For assembly of the supply line
and blow off line, only the right standardized counter-connections and sealing rings
are to be used for connections available on the valve and ones suitable for contact
with food and other delicate goods.
