5.13 The exhaust manifold and the silencer are welded together as one unit. The upper
part, the exhaust manifold, is covered by a heat insulating jacket.
The jacket is retained on the manifold by a series of wires, fastened to hooks, pulling
the jacket together. If necessary this jacket can be removed and replaced. The heat
insulation on the exhaust is permanent.
5.14 When all the internal parts have been checked the exhaust primer system can be
reassembled
– a reversal of the dismantling process.
Ensure the gasket is replaced between the primer housing and the exhaust exit.
When securing the exhaust exit to the exhaust priming housing note the correct order
for the two types of nuts retaining the exhaust exit to the exhaust priming valve and
manifold
– washer first, then the thin nut, then the thick nut last.
5.15 Do not forget to reconnect the priming rod to the lever on the side of the exhaust
priming valve housing.
