OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
NOTE -
The number which precedes each paragraph links the
references in the text to the respective figures (listed on the
pages 2 - 3).
NOTE - The machine can be supplied with some parts al-
ready assembled.
WARNING - Unpacking and completing the assembly
should be done on a flat and stable surface, with enough
space for moving the machine and its packaging, al-
ways using suitable equipment.
Disposal of the packaging should be done in accor-
dance with the local regulations in force.
Complete machine assembly following the indications on the
instruction sheets enclosed with each part to be assembled.
NOTE - The meanings of the symbols on controls are ex-
plained on page 4 and following.
The motor is controlled by a dual-action switch to pre-
vent accidental start ups.
Press the button (2) and pull the lever (1) for start up.
The motor stops automatically when the lever (1) is released.
The cutting height is adjusted by the levers (1).
The four wheels must be adjusted to the same height.
DO THIS WHEN THE BLADE IS STOPPED.
On power-driven models, push the lever (1) toward
the handle for forward movement.
The lawnmower stops moving forward when the lever is re-
leased.
NOTE -
This machine lets you mow lawn in different ways; be-
fore starting work, prepare the machine based on how the
lawn is to be mowed.
DO THIS WHEN THE MOTOR IS OFF.
Preparation for mowing and collection
in grass-catcher
– Lift the rear stone-guard (1) and fasten the grass-catcher
(2) correctly as shown in the illustration.
Preparation for mowing and rear grass dis-
charge
– Remove the grass-catcher and make sure that the rear
stone-guard (1) remains down stably.

– On models with side discharge: make sure the side hatch
(4) is lowered.
Preparation for mowing and mulching
(if provided)
– On models with side discharge: make sure the side hatch
(4) is lowered.
– Lift the rear stone-guard (1) and fit the deflector cap (5) in
the outlet, keeping it slightly tilted to the right.Fasten it by fit-
ting the two pins (6) into the holes provided until the fas-
tener tooth (7) clicks into place.
To remove the deflector cap (5), lift the stone-guard (1) and
push in the middle to release the tooth (7).
Preparation for mowing and grass side
discharge (if provided)
– Lift the rear stone-guard (1) and fit the deflector cap (5) in
the outlet, keeping it slightly tilted to the right.Fasten it by fit-
ting the two pins (6) into the holes provided until the fas-
tener tooth (7) clicks into place.
– Insert the discharge deflector (8) as shown in the illustra-
tion.
– Close the side hatch (4) so that the deflector (8) is locked.
To remove the deflector cap (5), lift the stone-guard (1) and
push in the middle to release the tooth (7).
Fasten the extension cable correctly as shown.
To start the motor, push the safety button (2) and pull the
switch lever (1).
While mowing, make sure the electric cable is always
behind you and on the side of the lawn that has already been
cut.
•
For mulching or rear grass discharge
: always avoid re-
moving a large quantity of grass. Never cut more than one
third of the total grass height in a single passage! Regulate
the forward speed according to the lawn conditions and the
amount of grass removed.
• For side discharge (if provided):
it is best to mow in a
pattern where cut grass is not discharged on the grass still
to be cut.
LAWN CARE RECOMMENDATIONS
Each type of grass has different characteristics and may thus
require different ways of caring for the lawn; always read the
instructions on seed boxes for mowing height for the growing
conditions in the work area.
Keep in mind that most grass is made up of a stem and one
or more leaves. If leaves are fully cut, the lawn is damaged
and growth is more difficult.
