"Networked operation" mode of operation
In networked operation, the GCLR is connected to the GCDU 200 via an
RS485 interface.
Transponders are taught using the web-based user interface of the GCMU
524. This allows several GCLR units to be connected in a network and
authorisations (who / when / where) to be managed centrally.
Further settings concerning the reading protocol are required for this in the
GCMU 524.
X
Heed the wiring diagrams and installation instructions of the respective
products.
When voltage for the GCLR is supplied through the GCDU 200:
X
Heed the overall current consumption.
à
The networked operation of wide-range readers GCLR together with RFID
readers GCVR / GCRR is not possible.
à
Make sure that there is always on one transmitter in the area scanned by
the reader.
Setting the DIP switches
X
Set DIP switch 3 (REMOTE) to ON for networked operation.
When 2 wide-range readers are connected to the GCDU 200 make sure that
both readers have different RS485 addresses:
à
Reader 1: DIP switch 12 = OFF (Bit = 0)
à
Reader 2: DIP switch 12 = ON (Bit = 1)
