Caution:
If multiple devices are linked under the
same registration ID, only one device can receive push
notifications. If you wish to link multiple end devices
(smartphones) to the Wi-Fi smart video doorphone,
proceed as follows: Register a second account —
follow the procedure described above and create a
further account under another email address.
Connecting the Wi-Fi video doorphone to
the router
The settings will be configured automatically. To
do so, go to the “ Tools” menu in the app (click the
toolbox symbol on the toolbar at the bottom). In the
following menu, click “ Set Wi-Fi by QR Code”. Enter
your network name into the “SSID” field. Enter the
password for the router in the Password field. Click
“
Next”. The app will now generate a QR code.
Ensure that the Wi-Fi video doorphone is in standby
mode. This is signalled by a faint ticking. This device
is ready to read the generated QR code. If you cannot
detect a noise, press the RESET button for approx.
five seconds until you hear the reset sound. The
device resets; this takes approx. 45 seconds. The
device will then enter standby mode (ticking) and you
can scan the QR code. To do this, hold the display
of your smartphone with the QR code at a distance
of 10-15 cm (tablets approx. 20 cm) in front of the
camera on the Wi-Fi video doorphone. A “DING”
signals that the QR code has been successfully
detected. Click “ HEARD” and confirm the “Setting
successful” message with “OK”. The Wi-Fi smart
video doorphone is connected to the wireless
network.
Caution:
The Wi-Fi smart video doorphone can only scan one
QR code. If you wish to use the unit with another
network or have input an incorrect code, you must
reset the device until you hear the reset sound and
the device has re-entered standby mode (ticking).
Then repeat the described procedure. Alternatively,
you can reset the device and connect it directly to the
router using a network cable.
Adding the Wi-Fi smart video doorphone to
your smartphone
Go to the “
Device list” in the GEV app. Click and
drag the ICON downward to search for new entries.
Click the PLUS symbol to add a device. In the next
field you can enter a name or a location designation.
Enter your password in the “
Device password” field.
Confirm by repeating the password and press “ Save”.

To add the Wi-Fi doorphone to a further smartphone, a
new QR code must be generated. Proceed as follows:
In the “ Device list” menu, click the plus symbol to
access the “ Add devices” sub-menu. Click “Manual”
and enter the device ID of the Wi-Fi doorbell, click “ Next”
and select a password. Confirm by clicking “
Save”.
