Inspect the Electrical Wiring
Maintaining electrical wiring in good condition is
essential to safe operation and good machine
performance. Failure to find and replace burnt,
chafed, corroded or pinched wires could result in
unsafe operating conditions and may cause
component damage.
Electrocution hazard. Contact
with hot or live circuits could
result in death or serious injury.
Remove all rings, watches and
other jewelry.
1 Inspect the following areas for burnt, chafed,
corroded and loose wires:
· Turntable area
· Ground controls
· Turntable rotation manifold wiring
· Power unit wiring
· Outrigger manifold wiring (if equipped)
2 Inspect for a liberal coating of dielectric grease
in the following locations:
· Between the ground and platform controls
· All harness connectors
· Level sensor
3 Turn the key switch to ground control and pull
out the red Emergency Stop button to the on
position at both the ground and platform
controls.
4 Raise the secondary boom until the platform is
approximately 10 feet / 3 m off the ground.
5 Inspect the boom storage area for burnt, chafed
and pinched cables.
6 Lower the boom to the stowed position and turn
the machine off.
7 Inspect the following areas for burnt, chafed,
corroded, pinched and loose wires:
· Boom to platform cable harness
· Primary, secondary and jib booms
