Confirm the Proper
Brake Configuration

Genie specifications require that this procedure be
performed every 250 hours or quarterly, whichever
comes first.

Proper brake configuration is essential to safe
operation and good machine performance.
Hydrostatic brakes and hydraulically-released,
spring-applied individual wheel brakes can appear
to operate normally when they are actually not fully
operational.

1 Check each drive hub disconnect cap to be

sure it is in the engaged position.

2 Be sure the free-wheel valve on the drive pump

is closed (clockwise).

Note: The free-wheel valve is located on the
bottom of the drive pump.
