For the Fault relay, any fault or malfunction
condition that is monitored by the
microprocessor will cause the relay to
change its electrical state. When the Fault
or Malfunction condition is corrected, the
relay will return to its normal state.
For the Warn & Alarm relays, when the gas
concentration reaches the user selectable set
point, the associated relay will activate.
Whether or not the relay returns to its
normal state when the gas concentration
drops below this level depends on the
latching/non-latching options for the Warn
& Alarm relays. The Model S216A comes
equipped with an explosion-proof,
externally mounted reset switch for resetting
latched conditions.
The other user selectable options are the
energized/de-energized options for the Warn
& Alarm relays. These specify if the relays
have power applied normally (energized) or
if the relay is normally at mechanical rest
(de-energized).
