For pressures lower than 2 atm. install a pumping system with surge tank.
- For pressures higher than 6 atm. install a pressure reducer.
- After the water meter, install a check valve.
- For potable use a residual hardness of 15° f is recommended, for which the installation of a mixing
valve (manual or automatic) is necessary.
- For potable use the resins disinfection system is recommended (model with initial AD code).
After installation, for start up and testing of the equipment, directly contact your dealer or
installer from whom you have purchased the machine.
Do not use the equipment before the start up and testing carried out by your dealer or
authorized technical staff.
10 - START UP AND TESTING
The start up and testing of the softener must be carried out by authorized technical staff, who will take
care of:
- CHECKING THE INSTALLATION
- MEASURING THE WATER HARDNESS
- PROGRAMMING THE TIMER
- CARRYING OUT A MANUAL REGENERATION
- ADJUSTING THE MIXING VALVE (for potable use only)
- STARTING UP THE EQUIPMENT
- GIVING INSTRUCTIONS TO THE USER ON USE AND MAINTENANCE OF THE SOFTENER
HOW TO ADJUST OF THE MIXING VALVE
(Reserved to Technical Assistance Service)
The hardness of the water treated by the softener is 0 °f.
If the softener is for potable use, the minimum water hardness recommended is 15 °f.
To get a hardness of 15 °f, the softener must be equipped with the mixing valve necessary for mixing the
mains supply water with the water softened to 0 °f, thus allowing to adjust the hardness up to the desired
value.
The mixing valve must be adjusted only after completing the programming of the Timer in all
its parts.
MANUAL MIXING VALVE
To check the proper working of the manual mixing valve, operate as
follows:
- completely open a tap and run water;
- act on the by-pass lever with small movements until the value of the
water hardness measured at the outlet corresponds to the desired one.
