5.1.1 - How to prepare the pump and check the seal
- Fill the tank with enough water to ensure
that the pump rotor housing is submerged
during operation.
- Screw the outer ends of the flexible hoses
securely to the exchanger to be descaled.
- Connect the power cable to a single-
phase 230 V power supply.
- Switch on the pump and check the seal
of the hose fittings on the exchanger and
on the pump. In case of leaks of liquid,
check hoses and fittings and replace the
defective components, if necessary.
- When seal is safe, switch off the pump.
- If necessary, add more acid by referring
to the dilution specified in the data sheet
of the product.
5.1.2 - Descaling
- Switch on the pump.
IMPORTANT: During use, the tank cap should remain open to allow
for the passage and elimination of the gas evolved during descaling.
Check that the foam level does not exceed the maximum filling level.
- In models equipped with flow reverser (GEL Patent), which makes it
possible to attack scale from both directions of the circuit, periodically
move the handle from one stop to the other. By attacking scale
from both sides it is possible to clean piping which is almost totally
obstructed and descaling time is considerably reduced.
- Scale removal can be considered complete when bubbles no longer
form in the return pipe and the solution is still acidic.
- Pumps BOY C 120-130 are suitable for descaling big heat exchangers.
- Pumps BOY C 220-230 are suitable for descaling big boilers.
5.1.3 - HOW TO CLEAN THE PUMP
- After descaling REMOVE THE DESCALING LIQUID FROM THE TANK
and wash out the pump by circulating clean water through it for at
least 10 minutes.
5.2 - PUMPS BOY C 200
- Suitable for restoring big heating systems and descaling sanitary hot
water systems.
- Must work with clean water; not suitable for pumping flammable
liquids or working in places with risk of explosion.
- Avoid contact between the power supply of the pump and the liquid
to be pumped.
5.2.1 - HOW TO PREPARE THE PUMP
- Connect the pump to an acid-resistant tank of at least 200 litres.
When carrying out the connection, insert an on-off valve by making
sure the connection section is not lower than the
5.2 - PUMPS BOY C 200
- Suitable for restoring big heating systems and descaling sanitary hot
water systems.
- Must work with clean water; not suitable for pumping flammable

- Avoid contact between the power supply of the pump and the liquid
to be pumped.
5.2.1 - HOW TO PREPARE THE PUMP
- Connect the pump to an acid-resistant
tank of at least 200 litres. When carrying
out the connection, insert an on-off
valve by making sure the connection
section is not lower than the water
supply pipe fitting (Ø 40 mm.).
- Connection to the tank has to be
carried out at about 15 cm. from the
bottom to allow for the sedimentation
of the sludge and other solid particles
removed by descaling.
- Use transparent flexible hoses to connect the delivery pipe of the
pump to the system to be descaled and the return pipe to the tank.
- Connect the power cable to a single-phase 230 V power supply.
5.2.2 - DESCALING
- Switch on the pump.
- Scale removal can be considered complete when bubbles no longer
form in the return pipe and the solution is still acidic.
5.2.3 - HOW TO CLEAN THE PUMP
- After descaling REMOVE THE DESCALING LIQUID FROM THE TANK
and wash out the pump by circulating clean water through it for at
least 10 minutes.
- Do not leave the liquid inside the tank for any reasons.
