8.4.1 Entering the Material and Soundspeed (cont.)

If you have selected a preprogrammed material, you have completed
entering data in this window. Pressing the [

] key returns the program to

the Material tab. But if you selected “Other,” you can also enter a specific
soundspeed.

To enter the soundspeed:

Press

[ENTER]

to open the text box.

Use the numeric keys to enter the desired soundspeed (from the
brochure

Soundspeeds and Pipe Size Data,

914-004).

Press

[ENTER]

to confirm your entry.

To leave the Material window:

•

Press the [

] or [

] arrow key to move to another tab to take

readings or perform a velocity calibration.

•

Press

[F2]

(Cancel) to return to Operate Mode without confirming the

soundspeed value.

•

Press

[F3]

(OK) to confirm the new value. The PT878 returns to

Operate Mode.
