COMPONENT SERVICABILITY
3. Insert a flat blade screw driver under either edge of the
freezer floor closest to the cabinet, and lift up.
4. Hold freezer floor up with your fingers and release the
remainer of the front edge.
Underneath the freezer floor is styrofoam insulation that
has a heat shield on the bottom, and is notched to fit
around the evaporator fan. It is important when
reinstalling the insulation that you insert the front edge
closest to you underneath the edge of the freezer floor.
This will give the proper clearance and allow the freezer
floor to seat correctly.
With the freezer floor and insulation out you will have
access to the evaporation fan, which is held in by two
screws, and can easily be removed after disconnecting
the wiring connections. The evaporator coils (twin spiral
fin WR49M301), radiant evaporator defrost heater, and
defrost thermostat is accessible as well.
REPLACING EVAPORATOR
Care must be used when replacing the evaporator, to
avoid heat damage to the freezer liner.
To replace evaporator:
1. Bend heat shield “A”, with metal side facing up, along
the slits into “U” shape and install under the suction and
capillary tubes as shown in Fig. 1.
Keep the shield against the back wall.
2. Apply Thermo-trap paste to the raised part of the
plastic food liner as shown.
