Entering the BIOS SETUP
Whenever you want to work manually at the ASLP11, you need some sort of
console connection. Either you use the optional serial port or the planned
console rerouting via Ethernet or you have to connect a graphics card to the
PCI-Express port.
To enter SETUP during the initial power-on sequence press the DELETE key
during the boot-up sequence. Check the on-screen messages. This tells you
when you can enter the BIOS by pressing the DELETE key. You may also
press the DELETE key when the LED changes from blinking amber to blinking
green.
Consult the 'AMIBIOS for ASLP11 User’s and Programmer’s Manual' for
further information on how to change settings and configurations.
If the board does not perform as described above, some damage may have
occurred in shipping or the board is not installed or set up properly. Contact GE
Intelligent Platforms technical support as described in chapter “Support,
Service, and Warranty Information” for further instructions.
If the current BIOS settings do not allow the system to boot, holding down the
“End” key while the USR1 is blinking amber will load the “Failsafe Defaults”
set.
The BIOS ID is shown on the bottom line of POST display.
