(7) Ensure that your KTD-447 CPU card(s) are updated
with firmware dated after January 2000 by checking
the date code on the EPROMs.
(8) If the system cards and cabling are good, then the
CPU or power supply might be defective. Test with
replacements.
(9) If any cards are confirmed defective, call the factory
for replacements.
No video on a specific
monitor
Monitor has been
disabled or a monitor
card is defective
Ensure that the specific monitor is enabled. Otherwise,
swap the KTD-444 monitor cards (two at a time) and test
for a defective card. Return any defective cards.
No video on multiple
monitors
Incorrect DIP switch
settings
Ensure that all DIP switches on all KTD-443 video input
cards are set correctly.
No video from a specific
camera
Incorrect cabling
Ensure that the camera is connected to the correct BNC
input. If it is, then connect the camera’s coaxial cable
directly to a monitor to see if video is coming out of the
camera. If the camera is defective, replace it. If the
camera is operational, perform the solutions given for “no
or intermittent video” (the first problem in this list).
No response to
commands
Keypad’s RJ45 cable is
defective or polarity is
reversed
Check the RJ45 cable for adherence to polarity and
condition. Rewire the cable while observing polarity or
replace the RJ45 cable.
No control of cameras
Incorrect input mapping
If wiring is verified, ensure that all camera sites and
positions have been correctly addressed and mapped.
Camera number
distorted on monitor
Defective cabling
Ensure that the camera cable is connected and not worn.
Replace, if necessary.
Red lines appearing on
monitor
KTD-444 cards might
not be properly seated
Ensure that all KTD-444 monitor output cards are fully
plugged in by removing power from the system (unplug
the 5 VDC power cord), reseating all cards, then
resupplying power to the system.
Site number scrolling
vertically on monitor
KTD-444 cards might
not be properly seated
Ensure that all KTD-444 monitor output cards are fully
plugged in by removing power from the system (unplug
the 5 VDC power cord), reseating all cards, then
resupplying power to the system.
Excess characters
displayed before the
date on the monitor
Overlapping titles
generated from more
than one source
Place a monitor in the data line between the time/date
device and the master chassis and move it back through
the system until you see where the numbers are coming
from. If using the matrix switcher for titles, turn off titles in
the time/date generator.
Flickering, flashing, or
double titles showing on
monitor
Defective KTD-444
monitor card or
improperly
programmed titles
Swap the KTD-444 monitor cards (two at a time) and test
for a defective card. If no cards are defective, perform a
hard reset and reprogram the titles. See section
5.1.2 Hard Reset
