38 | Working with Pediatric HAL

Simulating Collapsed Veins

1.

To simulate a patient with no accessible
peripheral IV sites, connect the fill
syringe to one of the arm ports.

3.

Disconnect the fill syringe from the port while
maintaining suction. This will cause the port
to seal and the veins will remain collapsed.

2.

Pull the plunger to create suction.
This will collapse the veins.
