9. Press the ON/OFF button to switch ON the appliance. The ON/OFF button
illuminates blue and the appliance starts heating. Leave the appliance operate
until the water tank is empty.
Note:
You can cancel or interrupt operation at any time you like by pressing the ON/
OFF button (see: “Interrupting or Cancelling Operation”). However, keep in mind
that water could still be within the filter basket and drip.
WARNING:
Even with the drip stop valve closed, do not leave the appliance
operate for more than a few seconds without any container placed below the filter
basket. Otherwise hot liquid could run out, causing high risk of injuries and dama-
ge. Do not hold your hands and arms below the filter basket with the appliance
still hot. Only SLOWLY slide the drip speed control to the left side of the appliance
for increasing the drip speed, with the filter basket filled up with water (e.g. after
pouring a cup of coffee prematurely or operating the appliance on a very low drip
speed),. Otherwise, the coffee could flow too quickly, splashing and running out
at the exterior of the carafe.
CAUTION:
With water still in the water tank and even with the drip stop valve
closed (drip speed control at position “Drip stop”), do not leave the appliance ope-
rating for more than 15 seconds without any suitable container on the warming plate!
Otherwise, the filter basket could overflow and coffee could run out unexpectedly.
Additionally coffee powder will be flushed into your coffee via the overflow opening
in the filter basket.
Always ensure that an appropriate container is placed on the
warming plate, when closing the drip stop valve for more than a few seconds.
10. If you wish to pour a cup of coffee prematurely, first slide the drip speed control
completely to the right to the “Drip stop“ position, thus closing the drip stop valve.
Pour your coffee, and at the latest after 15 seconds replace the carafe onto the
warming plate. Immediately thereafter,
slowly
slide the drip speed control back
to the desired dripping position between 0.25 and 1.25.
Please, do not forget,
that you need to open the drip stop valve manually!
11. Depending on the amount of coffee powder in the filter basket, the grind size,
and the setting of the drip speed control, after the water tank is empty, you should
wait some additional time for the filter basket to run empty. Then slide the drip
speed control completely to the right to close the drip stop valve.
12. Take out the carafe and pour your coffee. If you wish to keep your coffee warm
within the carafe, replace the carafe onto the warming plate. The warming plate
will still be heated up to 40 minutes of operation. If you do not need the appli-
