STORAGE
WARNING:
Young children must be supervised that they do not play with the appli-
ance or any part of it. Always switch OFF the appliance and unplug from power out-
let when not in use and before cleaning or moving or for storage. Before moving or
lifting the appliance by the handle, always allow the appliance to cool down suffici-
ently, empty the drip pan and clean the appliance. Do not place any hard or heavy
objects on the appliance.Do not leave the appliance unattended while connected to
the power supply to avoid risk of electric shock or fire.
Always clean the appliance and all its parts before storing to avoid accumulation of
dried-on food. (See: ›Care and cleaning‹)
Ensure to store the appliance where it is clean, dry and safe from frost, direct sunlight
and inadmissible strain (mechanical or electric shock, heat, moisture) and where it is
out of reach of young children. Place the appliance on a clean and stable surface,
where it cannot fall. Do not place any hard or heavy objects on the appliance or
any part of it.
Always handle power cords with special care. Electric cables may never be knotted,
twisted, pulled, strained, or squeezed.
Do not use any parts or accessories of the appliance for any other purpose than
operating the appliance. It is good advice to store the parts and accessories of the
appliance with the appliance.
CAUTION:
Do not hold the appliance by the power cord for moving the appliance.
To move the appliance, always grasp the appliance at the handle or at both sides
of the base, to avoid damage. Before moving the appliance by the handle, always
ensure that the height control clip is in the LOCK position and the lid is securely
locked to the base.
1. Clean the appliance according to the instructions in section ›Care and cleaning‹.
2. Ensure, that no objects are on the cooking plates.
3. Insert the drip pan (see: ›Features of your Design Grill-Barbecue Advanced‹).
4. Hold the top plate by the handle and slide the grilling height control to the OPEN
position. Then close the top plate and slide the grilling height control to the LOCK
position.
CAUTION:
Before moving or lifting the appliance by the handle, always ensure,
that the adjustable grilling height control is in the LOCK position so that the top and
base plates are firmly locked together. Do not lift the appliance with released top
plate lock, otherwise the hinge could get damaged.
5. Lift the appliance by the handle and wrap the cord in the cord storage area in
the bottom of the appliance, but take care not to pull or strain the power cord. Then
you may store the appliance in an upright position.
