3.2.2 DISTRIBUTOR ADJUSTMENT AND TEST
DISTRIBUTOR ADJUSTMENT
ATTENTION
Adjust the doser with the unit on the ground, the motor
turned off and the tractor blocked in place.
The seeding table contains the instructions for suitably distributing
the seeds. The data that must be taken into consideration for
proceeding with the job are: size and type of seed (small or
normal size, e.g. wheat or colza), quantity in kg to be distributed
per hectare.
Size and type of seeds: adjust the distributor according to the
selected seed (see table 2).
The distributed seed quantity per hectare is adjusted by the
seed distributor (Fig. 11) by moving the graduated slide valve
accordingly (

) with the screw staff (

). The positions of the
distributor scale correspond to the adjusting table values in the
left column (table page 60-61).
DISTRIBUTOR TEST
ATTENTION
Adjust the doser with the unit on the ground, the motor
turned off and the tractor blocked in place.
Once the distributor has been adjusted, a test has to be carried
out to check the correct seed distribution, as the table values
are purely reference values, owing to the diversity often found
in size and specific weight of the seeds.
Shut the slide valve sompletely with the seedhopper empty.
Add a small seed quantity (approx. 40 kg) inside the hopper.
Calculate the gate opening value, with the help of the table, on
the basis of the type of seed to be used and the quantity to be
distributed.
WARNING
Do not close the gate when there are seeds inside the
doser: this would result in the dosing parts being broken.
Remove the curve under the injecting tube and placing a bucket
underneath. Carry out the required rotations of the driving
wheel: (

for DP600 SPRINT
and GIGANTE 600) with distribution for 1/10 ha as reference.
To obtain the gathered quantity for 1 ha, multiply the gathered
product by 10.
If the value obtained is less or greater than that required, open
or close the gate by a few units and repeat the test.
ATTENTION
Do not close the gate when there are seeds inside the
doser: this would result in the dosing parts being broken.
Once the test has been finished, fasten the curve again to the
injecting tube. By doing so, make sure that the curve flange is in a
balanced position with regard to the tube.
Example wheat (DP300 SPRINTpage 60)
Requested seed quantity: 230 kg/ha
- a value between 60 and 65 is obtained from the table. As
previously described it is advisable to set the distributor opening
at a lower value, in this case value 60 will be set;
- 19,5 kg (1/10 ha) are obtained from the rotation test;
- this amounts to approx. 5% less than the requested value;
- also increase the adjusting value by 5%, thus reaching 63;
- 23 kg (1/10 ha) are obtained from the second rotation test.
3.3 PREPARATIONS FOR SOWING
To obtain a seeding of quality is necessary to adjust properly:
- seeding depth
- rear seed covering harrow
- adjusting row markers and row marking arm length
- Folding toolbar (GIGANTE)
- Hydraulic system
