SeRVICING aND RePaIRING THe eNGINe’S COmPONeNTS
RIGHT-HAND SEMI-CRANKCASE, INNER SIDE
- Remove centring bushings -1- and selector spring centring screw -2-
- Before performing any repairs to the right-hand semi-crankcase, check for any
deformation around its circumference with a thickness gauge, both inside and
outside.
Maximum semi-crankcase deformation 0.05 mm.
Note:
Toremovethebearingsfromtheright-handsemi-crankcase,itisnecessaryto
heatittoapproximately150°Cusingaheatingplate,stoveorsimilar.Onceit
ishot,simplyuseanordinaryextractortoolorasoftmetalorwoodenpusher
toremovethebearingscompletely.Inexceptionalcases,itmaybenecessary
to use a press to dislodge the bearings.
- Remove the seals from the right-hand semi-crankcase using a seal extractor or
by carefully prying with a screwdriver.
Note:
Allgaskets,sealsandO-ringsmustbereplacedeverytimetheengineis
partiallyorcompletelydismantled.
- Place the right-hand semi-crankcase on a heating plate and heat it to
approximately 150°C.
Danger:
Whenhandlingthesemi-crankcaseafterheatingit,heat-resistantgloves
should be worn to protect the hands.
