COMMON BATTERIES (CASCADING CONNECTION)
Multiple UPS units are supplied by a single battery.
In order to calculate the battery cable size the following considerations need to be made: cable A will carry the total current
absorbed by all UPSs (UPS1+UPS2+UPS3), cable B will carry the current of 2 UPSs (UPS2+UPS3), and cable C will carry the
current of one UPS (UPS3).
This solution is suited for low discharge currents.
The units must be configured following the instructions in the paragraph “Configuration for Common
Batteries”.
To charge the internal batteries, close only the fuse holder of the UPS being charged
leaving all others open. In these conditions, the UPS should be in STAND-BY mode.
To charge an external battery box (not having its own battery charger) only close the
two external fuse holders of the UPSs used for re-charging (see diagram at the side).
In these conditions, switch on the UPSs in STAND-BY mode. (N.B. the internal
batteries will not be charged).

ATTENTION:
 It is advisable to use batteries of the same capacity.
 Fuse holders can only be closed without damaging the batteries if battery voltages are
approximately equal. If this is not the case, it is recommended to recharge each unit individually
