Alarm messaging and remote control via SMS 

With the GSM/LTE option the RTU-810 can send and receive SMS messages. This can 
be used in several application scenarios: 
 

 

Using the "TextSend" block in PicoLogo, the PicoLogo application can generate 
and send text alarm messages to cell phones via SMS 
 

 

Commands can be sent to the RTU-810 via MMI message (Man-Machine-
Interface), requesting the receive field strength in the GSM network, switching 
binary outputs, setting analog outputs or query the status of the binary and 
analog inputs from a cellphone via SMS messages, The access to the RTU-810 
via MMI is PIN protected. 
 

 

Event logger messages can be sent via SMS to a configured cellphone number. 
In this case Point-to-(Multi)Point connections can be easily monitored as an 
alarm message will be sent out once a station drops into offline state etc.
