Upgrade and Maintenance Manual

Basic software procedures

For Linux:

Call "sh <ASP-name>.scexe [options ..]" from a command line interface.

Get more information about possible options by calling "<ASP-name>.scexe --
help".

BIOS updates always require a closing system reboot.

Offline Flash: Flash BIOS Update with an USB stick

You need an USB stick on which the BIOS update files will be stored.

Make sure, that you have a bootable USB stick.

If your USB stick is not bootable proceed as follows:

Select on the download page the

Admin package - Compressed Flash

Files

and read the Installation Description.

Follow the instructions of the item

Create a bootable FreeDOS USB

Flash Drive.

CAUTION

The data on the USB stick will be fully erased and overwritten. Make
sure, that all data are saved before.

Unzip the downloaded zip file from

Admin package - Compressed Flash Files

and copy all files and directories to the root of your bootable USB stick.

Boot the system from the inserted bootable USB stick:

Wait until the screen output appears.

Press the function key

[F12]

and select the bootable USB stick with the

arrow keys

Change the directory with

cd DOS

and start the Flash BIOS Update with the

command

DosFlash.

Then follow the instructions on the screen.

After the Flash BIOS Update the system is restarted automatically. The
system will be booted with the new BIOS revision.

Check the settings in the BIOS setup utility. If necessary, reconfigure the
settings again.
