4)
If insertion/ejection is finished, close the front door.
5)
Close the front door. The library automatically takes inventory, the management
information of cartridges managed by the library is updated, and the library goes
back online.
Confirm at this point that the Front Door Opened icon, previously lit in the icon area
of the operator panel, is now off.
6)
Perform the inventory operation of the backup software to update the cartridge
management information for cartridges held by the backup software.
CAUTION
Damage to the library:
Never insert a cartridge with the cartridge having the wrong
orientation and never insert an out-of-spec cartridge. Otherwise, the
robot may be damaged. The robot may not operate normally if a
cartridge is inserted into any cell other than the specified one. The
insertion location of cartridges differs by model. Refer to
before inserting a cartridge into the
specified cell.
Important:
If the robot obstructs the work, perform the work by manually
keeping the robot out of the way. The robot unit can be moved
vertically by hand. The hand mechanism can be moved in the
left/right direction by hand and rotated horizontally by hand.
Note the following points when moving the robot by hand:
-
If the robot unit is moved while the picker mechanism or cartridge
is extended from the hand mechanism (
), the robot unit,
cartridges, or storage cell may be damaged. Be sure to move the
robot after pushing the picker mechanism into the hand
mechanism by hand (
). If cartridges are held, push the
picker mechanism after ejecting the cartridges.
-
If the robot unit is moved vertically while the hand mechanism is
on the right side (
), the hand mechanism may hit the
cartridges or storage cell. Move the robot unit while the hand
mechanism is on the left side (
-
A stopper that specifies the range in which the robot can move is
mounted on the robot unit. When moving the robot manually,
make sure that the robot does not hit the stopper hard. Otherwise,
the robot could fail.
-
The robot has some locations where lubricating oil is applied for
smooth operation of the mechanisms (
). When moving
the robot manually, do not touch such locations.
