Checking the Library and Drive Settings

From the operator panel or remote panel, check the settings of the drive and library being
used.

2.5.1

Checking the drive settings

A Fibre Channel Loop ID must be set for each drive. The factory default is "Soft
Address."

For information on the setting method, see

4.4, "Setting the Target ID of the Drive."

2.5.2

Checking the library settings

2.5.2.1

Checking the target ID setting

A Fibre Channel Loop ID must be set for each adapter port. The factory default is
"Fabric."

For information on the setting method, see

4.5.1.1, "Setting the library target (Loop) ID

for each adapter."

2.5.2.2

Checking the host WWPN setting

The host WWPN for which access is permitted must be set for each adapter port. Since
the factory default specifies no value, access from any host is permitted.

for each adapter (If needed)."

2.5.2.3

Checking the auto-cleaning function setting

The auto-cleaning function detects a cleaning request from a drive and automatically
cleans the drive using a cleaning cartridge. Auto-cleaning is enabled by the factory
default.

2.5.2.4

Checking the auto-inventory function setting

The auto-inventory function collects cartridge information in all the cells during the
initialization operation after power-on. The factory default is that inventory is taken after
power-on.

Checking the auto-eject function setting

The auto-eject function forcibly returns a cartridge in the drive to the original cell during
initialization after power-on. The factory default is that a cartridge is not automatically
returned to the original cell.
