Adjusting the
working position
The working position automatically adapts to the braking force. The factory setting is ideal
for nearly all applications
Einstellen des Ansprechverhaltens
If the working position needs to be correc
-
ted, proceed as follows:
Remove the side guard panel
–
Make sure that the “lever + draw
-
back pulley” unit (1) is resting
against the bottom mechanical li
-
mit-stop.
To do this, turn the wire spool in the di
-
rection of unreeling
Lift the oblong-hole profile (17) in order
to apply a fork-spanner (widthacross
12) to the spring mandrel (19)
Undo the counter-nut (18) of the spring
mandrel (19)
Turn the spring mandrel (19) to change
the position of the oblong-hole profile
(17)
–
If the oblong-hole profile migrates
upwards (or downwards), the wor
-
king position will also migrate up
-
wards (or downwards).
IMPORTANT!
Ensure that there is a gap of at least 5 mm between the top of the spring
mandrel (20) and the guide disc (21), to prevent damage to the braking system.
Secure the spring mandrel (19) by tightening the counter-nut (18)
Perform a function test (see: “Care, maintenance and inspection”)
Mount the side guard panel
Measuring the
value for the wire
tensile-force limi
-
tation
There are two possible methods that can be used to measure the dynamic tensile force on
the wire and to check the wire tensile-force limitation that has been set.
Method 1
(use a full or nearly-full wire spool.)
Remove the side guard panel (see: “Start-up”)
Using a felt-tip marker, draw a line across the entire width of the overload coupling (11)
Start wirefeeding at a low wirefeed speed
After the wire spool has accelerated, stop the wirefeed
With reference to the line you drew on the overload coupling (11), check to see wheth
-
er there has been any coupling slippage
Repeat this procedure at increasing wirefeed speeds until you see that there has been
slippage of the overload coupling (11)
From the table below, read off the value for the tensile force acting on the wire at the
respective wirefeed speed
The tensile-force value must correspond to the maximum wire tensile force set on the
overload coupling (11)
Mount the side guard panel
