Replacing the brake block
Checking the wear on the brake block, checking and
setting the brake clearance
Inspection procedure
Take off the side guard panel
Using a feeler gauge, measure the gap between the limitation eccentric (13) and the
bottom of the braking lever (22)
If the gap is greater than 1 mm, set the brake clearance (see: “Setting the brake clear
-
ance”)
Re-mount the side guard panel
Setting the brake clearance
Take off the side guard panel
Undo the screw (23) on the limitation eccentric (13)
Turn the limitation eccentric (13) until it is possible to pull the 0.3 mm feeler gauge
through between the limitation eccentric (13) and the bottom of the braking lever (22).
Tighten the screw (23) on the limitation eccentric (13)
Check the brake clearance once again
–
When the brake is lifted (released), the brake wheel must be able to rotate freely.
Function test (see: “Care, maintenance and inspection”)
Re-mount the side guard panel
Overload cou
-
pling
The overload coupling (11) serves to limit the increased tensile load on the wire during ac
-
celeration of the wire spool.
A key component of the overload coupling is the braking lever (3), which carries the over
-
load-coupling friction linings.
