Replacing the brake block Checking the wear on the brake block, checking and
setting the brake clearance
Changing the brake bloc
Take off the side guard panel
Use a screwdriver to bend the positioning lugs (24) down to the same level as the
brake block (25)
Lift the brake and push the brake block (25) sideways out of the body of the brake (4)
Undo the screw (23) of the limitation eccentric (13)
Lift the brake as far as possible and push the new brake block (25) sideways into the
body of the brake (4)
Use a screwdriver to bend the positioning lugs (24) upwards so that the brake block
(25) cannot accidentally be pushed out to one side.
Set the correct brake clearance (see “Setting the brake clearance”)
Function test (see: “Care, maintenance and inspection”)
Re-mount the side guard panel (see: “Start-up”)
Brake clearence
The gap between the brake wheel (5) and the brake lining (25) is known as the brake clear -
ance.
The brake clearance is checked indirectly, with reference to the gap between the limitation
eccentric (13) and the bottom of the braking lever (22).
Inspection interval
- every 500,000 weld seams, at least once every 6 months.
