INSTALLATION
The condensate drainage network must be suitably sized (internal pipe diameter minimum
16 mm) and the pipes must be positioned in such a way as to maintain a certain slope along
the entire length of the section, never less than 1%. In vertical installations, the drain pipe is
connected directly to the drain pan, positioned down low on the side shoulder, underneath
the hydraulic couplings.
• If possible, drain the condensate directly into a gutter or waste water drain.
• If it drains into the sewage system, it is recommended to create a syphon so as to prevent
the rising of bad smells into the rooms. The curve of the syphon should be lower than the
condensate collection tray.
• If the condensate is drained inside a receptacle, this needs to remain open and the tube
must not be immersed in water, avoiding adhesive phenomena and counter-pressure,
which may obstruct free flow.
• If it is necessary to pass over an uneven surface that may obstruct the flow of the
condensate, a pump will need to be installed:
• for vertical installations, install the pump below the side drain pan;
• for horizontal installations, the position of the pump must be determined based on specific
needs.
These pumps are commonly found in the market.
At the end of installation, it is nonetheless wise to check the correct flow of the liquid
condensate by slowly pouring some water (approx. 1/2 litre in 5-10 minutes) into the
collection pan.
Connect a tube for the outflow of the liquid to the drain pan connector, fixing it firmly into
place. Check that the drip guard extension is present and properly installed.
