Observe the instructions in the event win-
dow. Immediately stop the vehicle while
paying attention to the traffic conditions and
contact a qualified specialist workshop. If
the qualified specialist workshop deter-
mines it is possible to continue driving,
adapt your driving style accordingly. Drive
with even greater care. Keep in mind that
continuing the journey could damage the
vehicle and contravene legal regulations.
Immediately drive to a qualified specialist
workshop and have the affected system
checked and repaired.
If you can confirm the event window using the

button, the event window is hidden. You
can call up the event window again at a later
point (

page 80). If in addition to the event
window, an indicator lamp has lit up in the
instrument cluster or in the status area of the
on-board computer (
Y
page 73), the indicator
lamp remains on.

If you ignore warning and indicator lamps and the event window, you will not be able to recog-
nize failures and malfunctions in components or systems. Driving/braking characteristics may
be affected and the operating and road safety of your vehicle may be limited. Have the affected
system checked and repaired at a qualified specialist workshop. Always observe the warning
lamps and event window and follow the corresponding measures.
Gray event window
With a malfunction/notification of low priority, the on-board computer displays a gray event win-
dow. If further information about the malfunction/notification is available, the event window dis-
plays the
