Do not add the filling quantity shown in the on-

board computer until the menu window shows

the

symbol.

You will find information about engine oils in

the "Service products" section (

page 199).

Park the vehicle on a level surface.

Apply the parking brake.

Switch off the engine.

Unscrew and remove cap

Add oil as shown in the on-board computer.

Replace cap

and screw it on.

Oil level in the automatic transmis-

sion

General notes

If the

indicator lamp flashes or lights

up during the journey, then the temperature

of the transmission oil or the coolant is too

high. The reason for this may be that the

transmission oil level is too high or too low.

If the transmission oil temperature is often

high there is a danger of damage to the

transmission.

Only check the oil level when the automatic

transmission is at normal operating tempera-

ture.

Starting oil level measurement

Park the vehicle on a level surface.

Apply the parking brake.

Shift the automatic transmission to the neu-

tral position.

Start the engine and leave it running at

idling speed.

The oil level measurement starts. During oil

level measurement, display

shows the

Wait approximately 2 minutes.

After a delay, display

shows a code for the oil level or a fault

code.
