3.2.2.11 Set Magnetic Variation
Magnetic Variation can be set a any value between 180º West and 180º East. The factory default setting is AUTO.
To change the magnetic variation, access the Installation Setup and follow these steps:
1. Rotate the small knob to display MAGNETIC VARIATION, then press .
2. Rotate the small knob clockwise to increase the variation east or counter-clockwise to increase the
variation west.
3. Once the desired magnetic variation is set, press .
To operate in degrees True, enter 0º magnetic variation.
3.2.3 I/O Interface Check
1. Press the key until the CONFIGURE submode is displayed.
2. Rotate the small, inner knob to display the I/O Interface Check page.
3.2.3.1 CDI/Annunciator Test
Perform the following steps to test the CDI and Annunciator interface:
1. Press the key. The message CDI:5L indicates the external analog CDI should display full left
deflection.
2. Rotate the small, inner selector knob clockwise. The display should indicate where the external CDI is
positioned. The cycle starts at 5L for full left deflection and continues to 5R for full right deflection.
3. Verify that the conditions displayed by the receiver/display unit are identical to the external CDI conditions.
4. Press and repeat the test for the CDI #2 interface.
