of the final approach course, the unit will prompt
the pilot to enter the final approach course inbound to the FAF.
When inbound to an approach fix followed by a course reversal, confirm that
the HLD annunciator is illuminated. Refer to the Pilot Guide or paragraph
G. 2. of this supplement for flight plan suspend procedures.

At 3 NM and when inbound to the FAF, the CDI sensitivity will change from
±
1.0 NM to
±
0.3 NM at the FAF.
5.
At 2 NM from the FAF a RAIM prediction is calculated to ensure availability at
both the FAF and Missed Approach Point (MAP). RAIM will transition to
Approach Integrity and the APR annunciator will illuminate. If conditions are
normal no pilot action is required. If the APR annunciator doesn’t illuminate:
DO NOT DESCEND. COMPLETE MISSED APPROACH.

From FAF to MAP there is no pilot input required and RAIM Integrity is
continually monitored throughout the approach.
7.
MAP to Landing:
The waypoint light will illuminate approaching MAP and
at MAP the TO/FROM will change to FROM and course guidance presented
will be an extension of the inbound track.
8.
MAP to Missed Approach:
In the event a Missed Approach is initiated at or
after the MAP, the only required pilot action is to press “-D>“, “-D>“ which will
automatically provide direct steering to the first waypoint in the missed
approach procedure.
NOTE:
A direct course from the MAP to the holding point may violate the published
missed approach procedure. All missed approach procedures should be
executed manually.
9.
Once a destination airport has been established with an ETA, the
FreeFlight 2101
I/O Approach Plus
will automatically determine RAIM availability at the
destination. The prediction shall cover a time period
±
15 minutes from the ETA, in
intervals of 5 minutes. Predicted RAIM availability may be viewed from the
SYSTEM STATUS pages.
