PLUMBING
The Shurflo model# 4008 water pump supplied with your Aviator is designed to deliver smooth
consistent flow of fresh water at all ranges of operation, while only drawing about 8 to 10 amps of DC
current. This water pump draws water from the fresh water tank. The water pump switch is located on the
monitor panel located in the bathroom. When the switch is on the water pump will automatically keep the
fresh water system pressurized and operational. The water pump will cycle on and off on its own
depending upon the fresh water demand.
Pump cycling is greatly reduced with the new 4008 water pump. Some things to look for if the pump
short cycles are:
• Low flow from partially open faucet.
• Water filters not on separate feed lines.
• Clogged water filters.
• Restrictive elbows and valves as possible in the first 2 feet after the pump.
• Flow restrictors in faucets and showerheads.
• Long lengths of small I.D. (inside diameter) lines.
• If replacing pipe/tubing, be sure it is at least 1/2” I.D. for main lines.
Below is a picture of the 4008 Water pump. The screws are factory preset and DO NOT requires any
adjustments. If you feel an adjustment is necessary to the Water Pump set screws, please contact your
Aviator Warranty Department prior to making any adjustments to the screws.
Initial Start-up of the Water System
1. Make sure the tank is filled with water.
2. Open all faucets on your Aviator, both hot and cold.
3. Turn the water pump switch ON.
4. Allow time for the hot water tank to fill. Shut off each faucet as the flow becomes steady and free of
air. When the last faucet is turned off, the pump should also shut off.
5. The system is now ready for use.
