Reassembly procedure
2.4.1
Place the cap bolts to the valve body, tightening them securely to recommended torque
values.
2.4.2
According to Figure below, assemble the seat retainer, a new ball seat, the set bolt, the
retainer ring, the seat springs, the retainer packing and the new O-ring. Securely tighten
the set bolt so that the ball seat stays in the seat retainer satisfactorily.
2.4.3
Insert the seat retainer sub-assembly into the valve body. Lift the ball with a cloth belt and
place it into the valve body slowly with care to protect it from damage or scratch.
2.4.4
Adjust the location of the stem hole of the ball by means of a hydraulic press machine for
correct centering with the stem hole of the valve body. Protective measures such as a soft
pad should be taken to prevent ball surface from contact to the hydraulic press machine.
Assemble the stem and bottom stem through the stem holes of the body, after the stem
bearing and other small parts have been assembled.
2.4.5
Place the seat retainer sub-assembly on the ball. Adjust the location of the ball seat
for correct alignment with the body.
2.4.6
Place the O ring and gasket in the coupling flanges of the body and body cap. Lift the
body cap with a crane and lower it slowly on the seat retainer while adjusting it for correct
alignment with the ball seat. Evenly tighten the cap bolt nuts alternately and gradually in a
star pattern.
2.4.7
Ensure all threaded parts are securely tighten to recommended torques in section 4.3 of
valve operation. Retighten them if any loosened parts are found.
