Getting Started
Charging the battery
The Fontastic
®
X540Ri is equipped with an internal rechargeable lithium-polymer battery. Connect the X540Ri with the micro
USB cable which is included in the package contents. The cable can be connected to a computer or a standard USB power supply.
The red led of the X540Ri is

ashing during the charging process. The typical charging time is 2-3 hours. At full charge, the red
LED goes off. The cable can now be disconnected from the Fontastic
®
X540Ri. A Low Battery condition is indicated by a
fl
ashing
red LED.
Note:
Charge X540Ri for at least 3-4 hours before initial use.
Switching On /Off
To switch on, press the multifunction button for 3 seconds, the blue LED
fl
ashes.
To switch off, press the multifunction button for 5 seconds, the red LED
fl
ashes.
Pairing
The X540Ri must be paired with a Bluetooth
®
device before it can be used.
With the NFC feature of the X540Ri pairing can be set-up automatically.
For that purpose Bluetooth
®
and NFC must be enabled on the Smartphone, and the X540Ri must be turned on.
To pair or connect via NFC, the Smartphone will be held on the outer right side of the X540Ri. Both devices pair and connect
automatically.
For manual pairing without NFC perform following steps:
1.
In the off state, press and hold the multifunction button for 7 seconds to enter pairing mode. The LEDs will

ash alternately
between blue and red to indicate that it is in pairing mode.
2.
Use your Bluetooth
®
enabled device to search for Bluetooth
®
audio devices.
3.
The Bluetooth
®
device should indicate that it has found „X540Ri“.
4.
Con
fi
rm pairing with X540Ri. Enter „0000“ if you are asked for a pairing code.
If you are unsure about the pairing procedure of your Bluetooth
®
device, please check your device manual. When using a
Bluetooth
®
transmitter without display, set it to pairing mode and wait a few seconds until the connection with X540Ri is
established.
