Remarks:

Whenever a 

vectorload

 command is executed, all vectors

currently in the designated I/O Module are removed and
the new vector file is loaded. The file remains in the
designated I/O Module until overwritten by execution of
the 

writeword

 or 

writepin

 commands, or until another

file is loaded.

Vectorload

 should not be executed during vector driving

or inconsistent results may occur. Loading a vector file
has no effect on the current latched output. Because of
this, vector files can be loaded between an “arm” and a
“readout” with no adverse effects as long as no qualified
clocks are received. This method works well when the
input section hardware’s sync mode is “pod”, “int”, or
“capture”. More care must be taken if the sync mode is
“ext”.

When executed, the 

vectorload

 command uses available

memory to transfer the vector file from disk to the I/O
Module. If the entire file fits into memory, only one disk
access is required and only about 3 seconds are required
to load an 8K vector file from hard disk, or 15 seconds
from floppy disk, to an I/O Module. If not enough RAM
is available, several passes may be required to load the
entire file, requiring more time. To reduce this time, the
user may consider purchasing additional RAM to in-
crease the available memory.
