NB
The towing line must be attached so that it can be released
or cut under stress.
Figure 8.
Fixing points for towing, anchoring and mooring purposes: 1) cleats, 2)
locking chain (hardened-steel eye) and 3) trailer eye.
The maximum permitted force for fixing points (forward or backward) is 20.2 kN
(2060 kp).
5.10.5 Trailer transportation
The weight of the boat, including the engine and the battery, is 1,350
–1,400 kg
(excluding fuel or equipment). When transferring your boat onto a trailer, make sure
the trailer is appropriate for the boat: the trailer must have enough support guides to
reduce point loads, the bow fork should be positioned appropriately in relation to the
trailer's axle(s) and the load-bearing capacity should be sufficient for the boat
(including the engine, battery, equipment and fuel). Your car's registration certificate
indicates the maximum allowed weight for a trailer equipped with brakes.
Remove all excess load and bilge water before lifting the boat onto a trailer. Adjust the
trailer's long side support guides so that the main weight of the boat rests on the keel
guides while the long side guides prevent lateral rolling. Lift the boat onto the trailer
using the bow eye
– the other fixing points cannot withstand the weight of the boat
when it is lifted. Fasten the boat securely to the trailer before transportation. Protect the
boat by inserting a pad between the boat and the fastening lines where necessary.
Also consult the engine manual for further trailer transportation guidelines.
NB
The weight of the trailer should rest slightly on the towing
bar. Ensure that the boat has been fastened sufficiently
tightly to the trailer and that the boat's weight is distributed
evenly on the guides. If the boat rolls from side to side during
transportation, it will crash against individual supports,
potentially damaging the hull.
WARNING
A poorly maintained boat trailer, or one with insufficient
load-carrying capacity, may break down during transport
causing a hazard. Ensure that the trailer's load-bearing
capacity and the capacity of the towing vehicle are sufficient
for the combined weight of the boat, the engine, the fuel and
the equipment.
