: if using a brick hearth, the fireplace will need to be raised to accommodate the 1Ó

gap betwen the face and the base of the fireplace. For 2-1/2Ó thick brick this works out to
approximately 1-1/2Ó (we recommend 1-5/8Ó to accomodate irregular surfaces).
