STEP 4 – Commissioning
The next stage is commissioning. This involves con-
figuring and testing the system. A fully comprehensive
test procedure cannot be provided. This is because the
test- ing must be in accordance with local regula-
tions and practice. Also, sites differ in terms of the sys-
tem design. This means the tests must be individual-
ly planned to suit the specific site requirements. In-
stead of a compre- hensive test procedure, this
chapter provides guide- lines in the form of an exam-
ple procedure. For details of the control panel operator
functions, refer to the control panel user guide.

Panel Checks
1.
Energise the mains to power up the control panel:
the panel will initialise for 10 sec. max.

The internal buzzer might now sound to alert you to
faults. To silence the buzzer press the
Silence
Buzzer
key
. On the User Interface press the
ESC key to go back to the MAIN menu.
To silence the buzzer permanently during installa-
tion, engage the control panel at Access Level 3
and remove the Jumper J5. If the buzzer is dis-
abled, the control panel User Interface does the fol-
lowing: the zonal LEDs flash and the time and
date and BUZZER OFF are shown alternatively.
The timeout for the installer access is not
changed as a result of this procedure. To reacti-
vate the buzzer, replace the Jumper J5 when the
installation process is complete

Start to make panel checks.

On the control panel use the
LAMP Test
key;
the LEDs will glow and the buzzer will emit a con-
tinuous beep.

Check the brightness and the LCD contrast. (see
MAIN PAGE User Manual page 8, 9).
UP Key: increase the brightness of LCD display;
Down Key: decrease the brightness of LCD display;
Right Key: increase the contrast of LCD display;
Left Key: decrease the contrast of LCD display;

Set the Date and Time (User Interface).
At the first start-up the panel will prompt for the data
and time (this step is important to guarantee the
Log file consistency).

Press the

key to enter in MODIFY mode.
8.
Enter the User PIN (by default, it is 11111). Each
digit will be masked by an asterisk (*), the Installer
PIN (by default, it is 00000). Each digit will be ma-
sked by
*
(asterisk).
9.
Select option 4, TIME and DATE

The alphanumeric keypad is used to enter the Time
and Date values.
Press the
Right
Key to select the next value to be
inserted/modified;
Press the
Left
Key to select the previous value to
be inserted or modified;
Press the
ENTER
key to confirm the Time and
the Date;
Press the
ESC
key to step back to previous page.

Set the language of the User Interface.
When the panel starts for the first time, it will
prompt you for the User Interface language,
press the cursor keys to select the Language and
then press ENTER.

Press the

key to enter in PROGRAMMING mode.
13.
Enter the Installer PIN (by default, it is 00000).
Each digit will be masked by an asterisk (*).
14.
Select option 8: SYSTEM LANGUAGE: the system
language selection page.
Press the
Right
key to select the next language.
Press the Left
key to select the previous lan-
guage.
Press the
ENTER
Key to accept the selection.

HELP key
To explain the information on the LCD display in the dif-
ferent pages, an embedded help feature is present
on the panel LCD display.
For each active User Interface page, when the help key
is pressed, the full text in memory will be scrolled, line
by line, in the window of Help page.
A dedicated text will be present in every page of User
interface.
