Checking the coolant level
Only perform this procedure with the
engine cold. Never remove the cap from the
expansion tank when the engine is running
and/or warm.
• Remove the cap from the expansion tank
in the engine compartment and check
that the level is about 1.57 in. (40 mm)
from the top of the fi ller neck.
• If the level is low, top it up with the
specifi ed fl uid.
If frequent top-ups are required after
short trips, have the system checked
by an
Authorized Ferrari Dealer
.
• Screw the cap back on tightly.
The oil contained in the brake, clutch
and hydraulic steering systems,
besides damaging plastic, rubber and
painted parts, is highly dangerous if it
comes into contact with the eyes or the skin.
In case of contact, wash the affected area
thoroughly with running water.
To avoid any risk, always use protective
goggles and gloves.
Keep away from children!
Never dispose of used fl uid in the
environment!
On vehicles with F1 gearbox, the tank
supplies the braking system only.
The symbol shown on the adhesive label
on the tank indicates that there is synthetic
fl uid in the system.
Use of mineral fl uids will cause
permanent damage to the rubber
gaskets/seals of the system.
Do not use fl uids other than those already
contained in the system for topping up.
• After topping up, tighten the fi ller cap.
• Refi t the inspection cover.
Checking the brake/clutch fl uid level
• To access the tank, lift the engine
compartment lid (see
page 44
) and
remove the inspection cover.
• Check that the fl uid in the tank is near
the
MAX
level.
• If the level is low, unscrew the fi ller cap
and top up with the specifi ed oil from a
sealed container.
