Using the Lift

Electric shock can cause death or serious
injury. Charge the lift battery only as
described in this manual.
5.14 Charging the Battery
Charge the battery:
❑
any time the lift is not in use.
❑
if the alarm sounds when the boom is raised or
lowered. (The alarm indicates 20% or less of the
charge remains).
CHARGING THE BATTERY
1. Plug the female end of the charging cord into the
bottom of the control box and plug the male end
into a wall outlet (Figure 20).
2. Engage the wheel locks.
3. Charge the lift completely before returning it to
service. In most cases, completely charging a
battery requires about four hours.
Note: Additional charging time is required
when charging the battery for the first time.

4. Disconnect the charging cord and disengage the
wheel locks before using the lift.
ATTACHING/REMOVING THE BATTERY
The battery attaches to the control box. To remove the
battery, squeeze the release handle on top of the battery
and lift the battery off the control box (Figure 21).
To attach the battery, squeeze the release handle, set
the base of the battery in the top of the control box,
press the battery against the mast and let go of the
release handle.

Important
If the battery charge is low (less than 20%),
an alarm will sound when the boom is raised
or lowered. Charge the battery immediately.
Important
Totally discharging the battery hinders its
capacity to recharge. Keep the battery
charged at all times.
