Guide the bandsaw blade
(6)
bit by bit into the
saw blade guides
(7)
. The rear end of the saw
blade must touch the bearings in the bottom part
of the saw blade guides
(7)
.
Guide the bandsaw blade
(6)
bit by bit around
the two rollers
(15)
.
Swivel the lever
(9)
back by 180° as far as it will
go. Check whether the bandsaw blade
(6)
is po-
sitioned correctly around both rollers
(15)
. Lower
the cover
(13)
back down until the locking
clips
(4)
engage.
u
Check that the bandsaw blade
(6)
is seated
correctly. Briefly switch the power tool on
and off several times.
If the bandsaw blade is
not mounted correctly, it can come undone
and injure you.
Dust/Chip Extraction
English
Dust from materials such as lead-containing
coatings, some wood types, minerals and metal
can be harmful to one’s health. Touching or
breathing-in the dust can cause allergic reactions
and/or lead to respiratory infections of the user
or bystanders.
Certain dust, such as oak or beech dust, is con-
sidered carcinogenic, especially in connection
with wood-treatment additives (chromate, wood
preservative). Materials containing asbestos may
only be worked by specialists.
– Provide for good ventilation of the working
place.
– It is recommended to wear a P2 filter-class
respirator.
Observe the relevant regulations in your country
for the materials to be worked.
u
Avoid dust accumulation at the workplace.
Dust can easily ignite.
Operation
English
Starting Operation
English
Switching On and Off
English
To
switch on
the power tool,
first
press the
lock-off button
(1)
,
then
press and hold the on/
off switch
(2)
.
The lamp
(10)
lights up when the on/off
switch
(2)
is lightly or fully pressed, meaning that
the work area is illuminated in poor lighting con-
ditions.
To
switch off
, release the on/off switch
(2)
.
Note:
For safety reasons, the on/off switch
(2)
cannot be locked; it must remain pressed during
the entire operation.
Temperature-dependent overload protection
English
In normal conditions of use, the power tool can-
not be overloaded. If the power tool is over-
loaded or the permitted battery temperature is
exceeded, the electronics of the power tool will
switch off until the temperature returns to within
the optimum operating temperature range.
Working Advice
English
u
Hold the power tool firmly with both hands
and make sure you have a stable footing.
The power tool can be more securely guided
with both hands.
Select a suitable cutting position for your work-
piece, so that as many teeth as possible of the
bandsaw blade
(6)
are in the cut (see figure
F
).
Switch the power tool on, place it onto the
workpiece using the guide
(5)
and slowly lower
the bandsaw blade
(6)
into the cut.
Work with moderate pressure and uniform feed.
Reduce the pressure just before ending the cut
and slightly raise the power tool, so that it does
not fall on the workpiece.
Maintenance and Service
English
Maintenance and Cleaning
English
u
Remove the battery from the power tool
before carrying out work on the power tool
(e.g. maintenance, changing tool, etc.). The
battery should also be removed for trans-
port and storage.
There is risk of injury from
unintentionally pressing the on/off switch.
u
To ensure safe and efficient operation, al-
ways keep the power tool and the ventila-
tion slots clean.
Range of accessories
English
Only use original FEIN accessories. The ac-
cessories must be intended for the power tool
type.
Maintenance and After-Sales Service
English
Please note that power tools must only be re-
paired, serviced and tested by qualified electri-
cians. Improper repairs can pose considerable
hazards to the user.
When working metals in extreme conditions,
conductive dust can settle in the interior of the
power tool. Regularly blow out the interior of the
power tool through the ventilation openings
with dry and oil-free compressed air.
Processing gypsum-containing materials can
create dust. This can settle in the interior of the
power tool and on switching elements, and may
harden due to the humidity. This may impair the
switching mechanism. Regularly blow out the in-
terior of the power tool through the ventilation
openings and the switching elements with dry
and oil-free compressed air.
Products that have come into contact with as-
bestos must not be brought for repair. Dispose of
products contaminated with asbestos according
