Starting the engine
Check if the emergency starting system (1) is not activated
(upper position). Check also if the parking brake is activated (2).
Put the speed lever in the neutral position. The engine will only
run with the lever in this position.
While in the operator's seat, turn the starting key switch (3) to
the right, to the first position (“I”), and then to the starting position
( ). Release the switch as soon as the engine starts running.
Do not hold the starter motor for much longer (the
maximum allowed is 30 seconds). If the engine does
not work, wait approximately one minute before
trying again.
Heat the engine for some minutes in idling, or for longer if the
room temperature is below 50°F (+10°C).
When operating the engine in enclosed rooms,
check if there is proper ventilation to release the
exhaust gases.
