8.10 Adjusting valve clearance

Safety

WARNING!
Risk of injury due to starting the engine!

The engine can be accidentally started when
adjusting the valve clearance and thereby cause
severe injuries.

Therefore:

– Disconnect the high pressure line on the

injection nozzle holder before starting work.

Personnel

This work must only be carried out by trained specialist
personnel. In the absence of the required qualifications,
arrange for the work to be carried out by a Greaves Farymann
Diesel service partner.

Prerequisites

Only check and adjust the valve clearance when the engine is cold
(less than 35 °C).
